The Idea Of States Is Troublesome In South Sudan
They claim that their lands has been grabbed;
But are their hands cleaned?
All the citizens of the nation state;
Prefer to have their own state, instead.
People still whisper about war;
But they're reluctant to go far.
How many conferences are needed;
to resolve the problems of this nation indeed.
When everyone works;
on their self interests, in the fog.
What could be done to resolve;
the issues that makes our unity dissolved.
When the elders from the sixty four tribes;
only works on bribes.
Is this the right path for the nation's;
Progression.
In an era whereby the youths;
Have only options to follow but not to lead.
Better are those of us who aims;
to work on the utopian state of Kush.
But are their hands cleaned?
All the citizens of the nation state;
Prefer to have their own state, instead.
People still whisper about war;
But they're reluctant to go far.
How many conferences are needed;
to resolve the problems of this nation indeed.
When everyone works;
on their self interests, in the fog.
What could be done to resolve;
the issues that makes our unity dissolved.
When the elders from the sixty four tribes;
only works on bribes.
Is this the right path for the nation's;
Progression.
In an era whereby the youths;
Have only options to follow but not to lead.
Better are those of us who aims;
to work on the utopian state of Kush.
Author's Notes: This poem is written to map the dilemma in which South Sudanese have fallen into. The peace process that has taken longer than expected by the citizens.
